Jamie Nettleton and Samuel Gauci from the Addisons Gambling Law Team have contributed to the Australian chapter of Chambers Global Practice Guide – Gaming Law, published by Chambers and Partners.
The Chambers and Partners Gaming Law 2023 guide outlines the licensing and regulatory regimes in 34 jurisdictions.
The Australian chapter provides an overview of the Australian gambling regulatory framework which considers various forms of gaming and gambling services, both online and land-based.
Other than an outline of the key legislative and regulatory requirements, the Australian chapter provides an overview of the key developments in 2023. This includes references to:
- the continuing discussion concerning the suitability of the land-based casino operators in various States;
- the assessment by AUSTRAC of the compliance of Australian gambling operators with AML/CTF laws;
- legislative changes; and
- the implementation of responsible gambling measures.
Please contact Authors, Jamie Nettleton and Samuel Gauci of the Addisons Gambling Law Team if you would like a copy of the chapter to be sent to you.
