It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Addisons Partnership informs you that our colleague, friend and Partner Tim Castle passed away recently.
The Partners and Staff at Addisons offer their deepest sympathies to Tim’s wife Merryn, his children James and Lauren, his colleagues and friends.
Tim had an esteemed legal career and was a highly respected adviser in commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring, specialising in the resolution of complex disputes, and in assisting stakeholders to navigate situations of financial distress.
Tim joined Addisons in August 2021, and was the leader of Addisons’ Insolvency & Restructuring and Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, and an active member of our Pro Bono Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Tim was the practice group leader for Sparke Helmore’s Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. He was consistently recognised as one of Sydney’s leading commercial litigation and insolvency lawyers.
Addisons Managing Partner Kieren Parker paid tribute saying, “We are all deeply affected by Tim’s very sudden passing, and send our deepest condolences to Tim’s family. He was a talented and much-admired practitioner, sought after for his intellectual rigour, commercial instincts and strategic approach, who steered complex litigation and insolvency work with an assured hand.
As a person Tim had an easy-going charisma and modesty that made him popular with clients and other practitioners, and he touched his colleagues here at Addisons with his warmth and sense of humour. We will remember Tim as a true gentleman and friend.”
