The clients Natalie advises are developers of landmark major projects and her work often includes environmental litigation on high value projects. Her litigation experience includes administrative appeals, judicial review, objector appeals, Class 1, Class 3 and Class 4 litigation in the Land and Environment Court. As well running general commercial litigation.
Significant projects on which she has advised clients include complex developments, particularly those involving heritage, urban design, biodiversity, ecology, visual impact and contamination issues. She has also advised multi-national companies in relation to environment protection licences, environmental compliance, waste regulation, pollution incidents and contaminated land, responding to regulatory action and contaminated land in the context of logistics, extractive industries, industrial, service station, residential and commercial development.
Natalie has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating voluntary planning agreements and in providing advice on the levying of development contributions. Her objectives in advising her clients begin with a comprehensive understanding of their needs and to map a solution that achieves an efficient and successful result.
Lend Lease — advised Lendlease as to the procurement of all necessary planning approvals for the redevelopment of the Barangaroo site including the concept plan, major project and State significant development approvals as well as numerous modifications to those approvals.
Lend Lease — acted for Lendlease in Class 1 merit proceedings and Class 4 judicial review proceedings brought by Jemena Limited in relation to the Block 4 remediation development approval which relates to the remediation of part of the area within Barangaroo that was declared by the EPA to be significantly contaminated.
Sydney Zoo — advised Sydney Zoo on State Significant Development planning approvals process and defending Class 4 judicial review proceedings in the Land and Environment Court regarding anticipatory breech.
Gazcorp — advised Gazcorp in relation to shopping centre development at Liverpool, Orange Grove including advice regarding permissibility of retail development, advice regarding planning proposals and the preparation of planning agreements.
Greaton — acted in Land and Environment Court development appeal litigation regarding the development of a town house development at Lindfield.
Poly Australia — acted in Land and Environment Court development appeal litigation regarding the development of a residential flat building.
Mirvac Australian Technology Park — advised Mirvac in relation to the approval of the State Significant Development Application for the redevelopment of the Australian Technology Park including commercial office, retail, community uses and public domain works.
Lendlease — advised Lendlease in relation to a number of major projects (including transitional Part 3A) such as Barangaroo, SICEEP and Calderwood.
