Edward’s experience includes acting in construction transactions and disputes for domestic and international developers, builders and suppliers on their commercial, infrastructure, government, mixed used, and residential projects.

Edward regularly assists his clients to understand their contractual rights and obligations throughout a project’s lifecycle from negotiation through to project delivery and administration. He maintains a strong client focus by developing long term productive relationships with clients and industry leaders to proficiently adapt to their needs and advocate toward a desired outcome.

Assisted by his dual qualification in finance and law, Edward brings a pragmatic approach to dispute resolution by advising clients on prospects and recommendations on the most cost-effective strategy of proceeding.

Adjudications

acted for claimants and respondents in relation to preparing and responding to payment claims ranging from circa $100,000 to $20 million and their subsequent security of payment adjudications applications and responses.

Contamination

assisted contractor in latent condition risk allocation in negotiations contract for site in NSW with known contamination issues, advised and prepared latent conditions notices for commercial project in South Australia and prepared deed of settlement resolving disputed claims, briefed and conferred with contamination experts to advise clients on environmental obligations for contamination and its remediation.

Government

prepared upstream and downstream construction contract documentation and advised client on arrangements with state government for a pharmaceutical manufacturing and research and development facility, advised client on risk allocation in alliance contracting agreement with state entity.

Residential

assisted homeowners, contractors and developers in relation to project administration and delay and defect disputes for multiple residential developments ranging from homeowner statutory warranty claims under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW) to complex payment, time-related and defect disputes for $165 million mixed use residential and commercial towers.
