In 2018 the National Consumer Protection Framework (NCPF) called for the introduction of stronger laws around the offering and provision of gambling inducements, including inducements to open a wagering account, as well as the standardisation of the responsible gambling messaging required to be included in most gambling advertising. Requirements relating to consistent responsible gambling messaging come into effect today, 30 March 2023.
