Addisons is looking for a motivated Senior Associate to join our growing Construction team. This is a unique opportunity to take the next step in your career, working closely with a highly regarded partner and a team of lawyers in a practice recognised for its excellence.
You’ll advise clients across the full spectrum of construction law – from front-end contract drafting to back-end litigation and dispute resolution. Our matters span diverse industries, including property development and energy projects, and involve drafting and negotiating complex tender and contract documentation. You will work closely with partners and clients on major projects, while mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the growth of the practice.

- Advising clients on all aspects of construction and infrastructure projects, including drafting and negotiating major project documentation, contracts, consultancy agreements and tender documentation.
- Advise clients on risk allocation, compliance, and regulatory matters affecting construction and infrastructure projects.
- Managing complex construction disputes, including litigation, arbitration, expert determinations and adjudications (across various jurisdictions in Australia)
- Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality written advice, correspondence, and submissions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and service delivery.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to thought leadership in the construction and infrastructure sector.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture, supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, providing guidance and feedback to support their development.
- At least 8-10 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in construction law, with exposure to both front-end and/or back-end matters.
- An outstanding academic record and strong technical legal skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and deliver practical, commercial advice.
- Experience in litigation and dispute resolution within construction (highly regarded).
- Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to deliver commercially focused advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive, organised, and adaptable approach with strong leadership qualities.
- A high level of professionalism and client service focus, including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a high-performing team.
