Addisons currently has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Compliance Assistant to join our Gaming & Gambling Law team, collaborating with a highly esteemed Partner whose extensive expertise fosters an exceptional learning environment. The team offers strategic legal advice to both local and international businesses on technology and regulatory matters.
This position involves providing assistance and support in overseeing and monitoring corporate filing and reporting obligations of our clients as well as providing ad-hoc administrative assistance in respect of regulatory submissions or occasional Court filings.
This position entails assisting clients in meeting various statutory obligations under the Corporations Act and other laws. The role also involves the formation and maintenance of companies, including fulfilling all registration requirements and ASIC filings for Australian subsidiaries of overseas clients.
Separately, the role will involve assisting clients in meeting licensing requirements under various laws and liaising with our clients in collecting information and documents which may be required for submission with regulatory bodies in Australia.
- Providing company compliance and governance services, including the maintenance of registers for clients and the management of corporate records
- Ensure that regulatory and corporate governance requirements are met and liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required
- Managing and maintaining statutory records and registers
- Ensure that all matters relating to the effective and efficient operation of the boards and committees are attended to in a proactive and diligent manner
- Drafting board resolutions and documents required to facilitate board or shareholder changes as well as board or shareholder decisions
- Providing guidance on how probity and licensing requirements are addressed
- Providing confidential and prompt administrative support and assistance.
- • Tertiary qualifications in business administration or law or other business-related discipline
- Strong legal or financial academic credentials are desirable
- Background in a similar role, possibly within a law firm, although we also welcome experience from finance, accounting, or other professional services sectors (including in an in-house role)
- Awareness of company secretariat
- Understanding of requirements to ensure compliance by companies and senior executives with filing and licensing obligations, which may have involved having performance a compliance role responsible for meeting those requirements

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communications skills
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of prioritising effectively and managing various tasks with ongoing deadlines
