MicroTau IP Pty Ltd (trading as MAKO) has completed a US$20 million Series A funding round, led by Virescent Ventures and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC).
Addisons acted as legal adviser once again to its long-term client MicroTau, after advising on its seed funding round in 2022.
MicroTau is a deep tech success story in Australia, producing innovative materials for aviation and defence by engineering shark skin-inspired surfaces for aircraft that cut drag and lower fuel burn.
The Addisons team advising MicroTau was led by Partner Rebecca Dooley and Solicitor Elvira Lin.
Partner Rebecca Dooley said, “Addisons was thrilled to continue to act as legal advisers to MicroTau, and we are excited to see how this support from Virescent, CEFC and other investors will enable MicroTau to further progress the development of its innovative, emissions-reducing technology for both Australian and global markets. Congratulations to Henry Bilinsky and the team.”
